M-F aquatic center opens next week

MILTON-FREEWATER – The Joe Humbert Family Aquatic Center’s summer season will open at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 3 with an open swim. The opening is a little later than expected, but the facility has undergone extensive resurfacing.

This week, the staff is being hired, procedures are being updated, concessions are being readied, and the repainted frog slide is being put in place.

“We are pleased with the tremendous amount of work taking place this week to have the pool ready for our community,” a news release form the city states. “If the weather cooperates, the plastering will be completed by May 27 (today) and we will begin to fill the pool this Friday.”

The city will then test the pumps and filters for a few days beginning Saturday to ensure water quality meets standards.
