SALEM – Oregon’s House Republican Caucus voted to elect Rep. Lucetta Elmer (R-McMinnville) as their new leader. She replaces Rep. Christine Drazan (R-Canby) who has been appointed to the Senate to serve out the term of Sen. Daniel Bonham (R-The Dalles) who officially resigns from his seat on October 5.
Elmer has served in the caucus since 2023 and was elected deputy leader in 2024.
“I am honored to be selected as House Republican Leader and I commit to leading with strength, respect, and diplomacy; ensuring that the voices of all Oregonians are represented,” said Rep. Elmer. “It was an honor to serve as deputy leader under Representative Christine Drazan, and I look forward to leading with Senate Republican Leader Bruce Starr.”
Rep. Alek Skarlatos (R-Winston) was elected as deputy leader.
