GRANT COUNTY – Lorene Allen Day is December 14th in Grant County.
C. Lorene Allen was the first female County Judge in Grant County. Allen was sworn in to the office on August 17th, 1981. The county court in 1988 proclaimed December 14th to be Lorene Allen Day in recognition of her, “tireless dedication to duty; relentless pursuit of fairness and truth; and her unerring dedication to the wellbeing of the citizens of Grant County.”
