HINES-Tuesday night was the last time that Hines Police Officer Alan Johnson signed off.
After over 40 years of law enforcement, Officer Johnson has officially retired from law enforcement. Officer Alan Johnson began his career in law enforcement in 1985 with the Dundee Police Department, and them move to Oregon State Police in 1998. While with the Oregon State Police, Johnson served as a Field Training Officer, and a Drug Recognition Expert for 10 years, then retired in 2015 as a Senior Trooper.
After retiring from the Oregon State Police, Johnson still had the desire to serve and protect and became a Police Officer and then Chief of the Burns Paiute Tribal Police Department until 2020. Johnson then moved to the City of Hines Police Department as a Police Officer, Field Training Officer and an Evidence Technician.
A retirement party was held for Hines Officer Johnson yesterday afternoon at Hines City Hall.
