LONG CREEK – Long Creek School District has been working with Arts Center East, a nonprofit establishment based out of La Grande, for the school’s Artist-in-Residence program.

Arts Center East Outreach Coordinator Moira Madden was on KJDY’s Coffee Time discussing the collaboration, and said schools like Long Creek can get set up with artists who fit their current learning processes:

“We’ve got a lot of different artists, about sixteen of them on our roster. I do the liaison work, and then the schools and the artists work together to tailor the topics and how the residency works to what their students are currently working on.”

Most recently, Artist-in-Residence Rikki Jo Hickey worked with Long Creek students on a puppet show production project.
