Local talent, world leaders punch tickets to final day of Pendleton Round-Up

PENDLETON – Tickets were punched for Saturday’s final round during Friday’s Day 3 action at the Pendleton Round-Up.
In Team Roping, Pendleton’s Trevor Patterson and Reg Freeman made it to the final day sitting in 12th place in the average with a time of 14.6 seconds. The average leaders are Arizona cowboys Derrick Begay and Colter Todd with a time of 10.6
The west side of Umatilla County is well represented in Tie-Down Roping, with Stanfield’s Gator Goodrich and Hermiston’s Michael Pederson making the cut. That field includes Brushton Minton of Witter Springs, California, who is No. 3 in the World All-Around standings.
In Barrel Racing, North Powder’s Michelle Williams advances to Saturday with a time of 29.51. There will not be a repeat champion this year as last year’s winner Tayla Moeykens did not make the final round. However, 2024 Round-Up champion Lisa Lockhart of Oelrichs, South Dakota is in first place after Friday’s action with a time of 28.92 seconds.
Pendleton’s Trent Sorey has had a good week in Steer Roping and is hoping for an even better day Saturday. He’s currently fifth in average with a time of 27.2.
In Breakaway Roping, Josie Goodrich of Stanfield and Jordan Minor of Hermiston both advanced to Saturday.
Lexington’s Hunter Greenup gets bucked off during Friday’s Bareback Riding action.
