JOHN DAY – October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Recently on KJDY’s Coffee Time, Heart of Grant County Director Beth Simonsen informed the listeners that the organization teamed up with several personal service workers for the Cut It Out campaign:
“This is kind of a national campaign. It’s called ‘Cut It Out’, and it’s the beauty community against domestic abuse. They could probably notice—‘Hey, I see some bruises.’ They can be trained on how to ask the right questions and at least refer them to us to maybe get some help.”
If you or someone you know suffers from domestic abuse, Heart of Grant County’s 24-hour hotline is always available by calling (541) 620-1342.
