LA GRANDE – Woodgrain Lumber & Composites is excited to announce that Island City Particleboard is expanding its workforce, aiming to bring on 35 new employees by March 2022, nearly a 30% increase in personnel. Woodgrain is excited about this expansion and is hoping to use this advantage to increase its presence in the particleboard market.

Island City Particleboard was founded in 1966 and acquired by Woodgrain in 2018. Woodgrain’s Island City Particleboard provides competitive wages, a robust benefits package, along with a challenging and empowering work environment. Division Vice President Tom Lovlien is optimistic and excited about this hiring initiative continuing that trend.

“It is an exciting time to be a part of Woodgrain,” said Lovlien. “Our company has continued to invest in its facilities here in Northeast Oregon, and our leadership has complete confidence that the Particleboard team will meet this new demand while maintaining both customer and employee satisfaction. This is a place people want to be, and we want them here.”
