Local man in custody after scuffle with Baker City Police

BAKER CITY — A local man is in custody after a scuffle with police late last week.

According to information from Baker City Police, the encounter began when an officer with the department attempted to serve a warrant to 29-year-old Alexander Alen Adams, at an address on 9th street.  An altercation between the officer and Adams ensued, leaving the office with minor injuries. Following the struggle, Adams fled to a camper on the property and barricaded himself inside.

The situation was resolved approximately 45 minutes later when Adams surrendered to his probation officer.

Adams was arrested on charges of Escape III, Resisting Arrest and Assaulting a Police Officer and is currently being held in the Baker County Jail.
