SALEM – The leadership for the Oregon Senate and House of Representatives have appointed lawmakers to committees for the 2025 legislative session. Because it’s an odd-numbered year, it will be a long session and a budget for the next biennium will be created.

Rep. Bobby Levy (R-Echo) will be serving on the Agriculture, Land Use, Natural Resources, and Water Committee. She will be vice chair of the Climate, Energy, and Environment Committee and a member of the Revenue Committee.

Rep. Greg Smith (R-Heppner) will also serve on the Revenue Committee. Smith will continue as vice co-chair of the Joint Ways and Means Committee and will co-chair the Ways and Means Subcommittee on General Government. Smith also has a seat on the Ways and Means Capital Construction Subcommittee. Both he and Levy have seats on the Tax Expenditures Subcommittee. Smith also will sit on the Legislative Administration Committee, which is a joint statutory committee.

Newly-elected Sen. Todd Nash (R-Wallowa County) has been appointed vice chair of the Senate Natural Resources and Wildfire Committee. He will also serve on the Housing and Development Committee and the Human Services Committee. The 2025 session of the Oregon Legislature begins Jan. 21, 2025.
