Local law enforcement honored for critical support during Harney County wildfires

BURNS-As wildfires continue to challenge the region, the tireless efforts of local heroes working behind the scenes and on the front lines are being recognized by national response teams.

On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Burns Police Support Specialist Ebony Mitchell and Harney County Sheriff’s Deputy Shyanne Fine were officially honored by the Southern Area Incident Command Blue Team for their crucial role in the ongoing fire mitigation efforts.
