NORTHEAST OREGON — As a blistering heat wave tightens its grip on the region, residents of Baker County and Union County are being offered a respite from the soaring temperatures. Cooling centers have been established across the counties, providing a haven for individuals to escape the relentless heat and find refuge in air-conditioned spaces.
In Baker County, the Baker County Library District is offering all of its libraries as cooling centers through Thursday, August 17:
