Local City of Burns restaurant has minor damage after fire

BURNS(Released from Burns Police Department)-On March 11, 2025, at approximately 3:23am, a Burns Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire at The Pine Room, located at 543 West Monroe Street, Burns. Upon arrival, it was discovered that there was minor damage associated with the fire and thankfully did not cause significant damage to the business locations.

Based upon investigation, it was determined that a subject stranded in the local area had entered the premise without legal right to do so and started a warming fire in a covered area attached to the building. The warming fire became bigger than expected and the subject lost control of it. the intervention of a local resident stopped the fire from causing serious damage, while the subject that started the warming fire got scared and fled the scene.

The subject, identified as 37-year-old Cody Tyler Wilson of Redmond was arrested for multiple criminal acts associated with the event, to include Reckless Burning and Criminal Trespass II.

This incident remains under investigation. Additional criminal charges associated with the event are pending additional investigative activity and review by the Harney County District Attorney’s Office.
