PENDLETON – Umatilla County Public Health is holding a vaccination clinic at the Pendleton Convention Center tomorrow (Friday). UCo Health Director Joseph Fiumara said the clinic is the result of the state setting restrictions on who can receive the shots.
“Part of how the state was able to get us some additional doses is we needed to narrow our focus of who could receive them,” Fiumara said.
The eligible include individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their caregivers; traditional health workers currently providing in-person services; home health providers; long-term care facilities not covered by the Federal Pharmacy Partnership; and other congregate care facilities as outlined in Phase 1-A.
The state has said that this allotment of 1,000 doses is not available for any other groups listed in Phase 1-A. Fiumara said that UCo Health remains committed to holding mass drive-through vaccination events weekly once it’s receiving enough vaccine to cover that effort. The health department posts any new developments on its website and social media.
