COLLEGE PLACE – The city of College Place invites the public to attend its Light Up the Avenue event, which includes a lighted parade, tree lighting and fireworks. The event begins with lighting the city Christmas tree and holiday decorations along College Avenue from Thirteenth Street to C Street at 5:30 p.m.
Starting at 6 p.m., an illuminated parade will proceed along College Avenue from 10th Street to Whitman Drive.
“Community members should expect to use alternate routes between the time of 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., as College Avenue will be shut down,” City Administrator Mike Rizzitiello said.
Rizzitiello adds the city is still accepting parade entries. To enter, visit https://bit.ly/3cYK1ht. The deadline to enter is tomorrow (Wednesday) at 5 p.m.
“I know as of Friday we had about 30 entries,” he said. “We usually get a ton of entries the day before it.”
After the parade finishes up a fireworks display will be launched from the old Rogers Adventist School site at Fourth Street and Davis Avenue.
