Lifesaving and public service recognition at Nyssa City Council meeting

NYSSA — A couple of awards were handed out at the most recent Nyssa City Council meeting. Nyssa Police report that Officer Hansen of the NPD received a Life Saving Award for his timely and prompt response to a medical call. The release states that, “Officer Hansen quickly recognized the need to administer medication to reverse the effects of an overdose. This response helped save a life. Thank you, Officer Hansen for you service.”

The other recognition was given to City Councilmember Betty Holcomb, who served as Nyssa’s Mayor for years. In their statement, the city thanked Betty for “serving this great community.”
