LGSD Announces hiring of new Central Elementary School principal, Justin Lieuallen

LA GRANDE – (Press release from the La Grande School District) La Grande School District is pleased to announce that, pending Board approval, Justin Lieuallen will become the new Principal at Central Elementary School effective July 1, 2026. 

Justin was raised in Milton-Freewater and is excited to return to Eastern Oregon, the region he has always considered home. He began his education career as a teacher in Hillsboro, Oregon, before moving into school leadership roles in Salem, Silverton, and John Day, where he served as both an assistant principal and high school principal. Justin currently works as a special education teacher and Manager of an Intermediate Learning Center in St. Helens School District, where he has focused on special education instruction and supporting student case management services. 

Justin has three children and many family members and friends in the La Grande, Pendleton, and Milton-Freewater area. Mr. Lieuallen shared that he is excited to return home, where he can regularly enjoy the outdoors, hunting, fishing, spending time in the mountains, and many other activities and community events that take place in our region. Justin also indicated he is honored to be the next Principal of Central Elementary School and looks forward to developing relationships with students, staff, and families that are grounded in trust, respect, care, and a shared commitment to student success.

Justin brings strong leadership experience, a student-centered mindset, and a genuine passion for supporting students, staff, and families.
