LA GRANDE – (Release from the La Grande Police Department) LGPD Officer Aaron Clark graduated from the Oregon Basic Police Academy September 9th. The Basic Police Academy is located in Salem, Oregon and is a 16-week (640 hour) training program. The Police Academy helps develop basic skills in all the disciplines needed for performing patrol work. The training involves classroom, skills and scenario-based training. Besides attending the Police Academy, each LGPD recruit must also complete a 3-to-4-month Field Training Program (On-the-job training) before they can work patrol in a solo status. We are very proud of Officer Clark and congratulate him for this accomplishment.
