LGPD Arrest two on assault, strangulation, and criminal mistreatment warrants following multi-month investigation.

LA GRANDE – On Monday, May 5, 2025, the La Grande Police Department arrested two individuals, William E Gibbons (DOB 4/29/1982) and Guadalupe Caballero-Gibbons (DOB 9/10/1989) on Union County warrants for numerous charges relating to assault, menacing, and strangulation.
According to information provided by the LGPD, the arrest of both individuals stems from an investigation led by the LGPD’s special victims’ detective following a report of child abuse received in October 2024. This investigation included the execution of a search warrant, forensic interviews, and forensic laboratory analysis of submitted evidence. In late April 2025, the case was submitted to a Union County Grand Jury, resulting in indictments for William and Guadalupe, who were subsequently arrested.
Full charges for William E Gibbons, as listed in a recent LGPD press log, are Assault III, Attempted Assault II, Criminal Mistreatment I, Strangulation, Unlawful Use of a Weapon X2, Menacing, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm X5.
