LGFD Honors firefighters with department award ceremony

LA GRANDE – Earlier this week, the La Grande Fire Department honored the incredible dedication and hard work put in by its firefighters this year during the department’s annual award ceremony. In a social media post, LGFD wrote, “It was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the year and recognize those who go above and beyond in service to our community.”
For the 2025 Department Awards:
- Firefighter of the Year: FF Blackwell
- EMS Provider of the Year: FF Wattenburg
- Vigilant Spanner Award: FF Haagen
- Keeling Award: Capt. Alam
Alongside individual achievements, the department also honored its members for their years of service:
- 20 Years of Service: Chief Laci and Capt. Ployhar
- 10 Years of Service: Capt. Alam and EMT Casual Forrest
- 5 Years of Service: FF Wattenburg and EMT Casual Clark
As further written by the LGFD:
