ECHO – Oregon State Rep. Bobby Levy (R-Echo) has witnessed firsthand the reality of the state’s urban-rural divide as she serves her first term as a lawmaker. She said she finds it mind boggling that lawmakers fail to reach out when shaping state policy.
“They don’t have any input from any of the counties east of Highway 97,” she said. “I’m not really sure they have any input from some of their own constituents.”
Levy said that people should not, however, consider all Democrats in a negative light.
“I’ve found some moderate Democrats that are willing to work together and find common ground,” she said. “It’s been real enjoyable for me, actually.”
