Lytle Fire south of Vale “mostly extinguished” at 6,500 acres, according to MCEM

VALE – UPDATE (6/23): Malheur County Emergency Management reports, “The Lytle fire in the area of Cow Hollow and Mitchell Butte road is mostly extinguished, and fire crews are mopping up hot spots. Residents may return to their homes. The fire threat has been eliminated.
Residents returning to the area should use caution as fire crews are over-hauling the burned areas and Idaho Power crews are replacing power poles and restoring power to the area.”
The fire grew to an estimated 6,500 acres, according to WildCAD.
