WALLA WALLA – Walla Walla Police Sgt. Gunner Fulmer reports that a man who allegedly threatened his mother with a sword is now in police custody. The incident began when police responded to a call Sunday morning reporting a domestic disturbance between a mother and son.

“The victim stated she had been threatened with a sword by her son,” Fulmer wrote. “Officers attempted to contact the suspect, but he would not listen to officers or be cooperative.”

Several attempts were made to call the suspect out of the house but to no avail. They summoned the Walla Walla Regional SWAT Team for help as well as negotiators. The suspect hung up on the negotiators several times.

SWAT introduced an “irritant aerosol” into the residence forcing the suspect to exit.

“During the exit, the suspect became uncooperative, placing his hand inside his pocket while repeatedly being advised to keep his hands up,” Fulmer reported. “Officers deployed multiple less-lethal rounds and sent a K9 in to subdue the suspect. Christopher Pfaff, 37, of Walla Walla was taken into custody and was immediately treated by paramedics. Officers submitted charges against Pfaff for felony harassment domestic violence, resisting arrest, and a weapons violation.
