Legislative committee to discuss Lone Rock Fire

SALEM – The Oregon House of Representatives Committee on Agriculture, Land Use, Natural Resources, and Water will meet at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17. The committee is co-chaired by Rep. Mark Owen (R-Crane) and Rep. Bobby Levy (R-Echo) is one of its members.

The topic of the meeting is the Lone Rock Fire that swept through Gilliam, Morrow, and Wheeler counties this summer. The informational meeting will hear from invited speakers only.

The topics that will be discussed include an infrastructure fish hatchery review, virtual fencing, and post-fire management. Among those invited to appear are representatives from the Lone Rock Fire Pilot Project, Regenerative Ranching Program, the Lone Rock Ranch, Campbell Cattle, the Gilliam Soil and Water Conservation District, and Gilliam County Judge Cris Patenode.
