Law Enforcement and Mental Health Professionals attend Crisis Intervention Team Training

BAKER COUNTY – Law Enforcement and Mental Health Professionals in Baker County attended Crisis Intervention Team training last week. According to the Baker County Sheriff’s Office, attendees from New Directions Northwest, Oregon State Police, Baker City Police Department and Baker County Sheriff’s Office learned about subjects including post-traumatic stress, trauma informed care, situational awareness and how to assist individuals in crisis.

Last Friday, their newly acquired skills were put to the test during scenario-based exercises.

Coordinating and facilitating a 40-hour training is no small task. The Baker County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Mike Dunn (New Directions Northwest) and Deputy Gabe Maldonado (Baker County Sheriff’s Office) for making the training a success.
