PENDLETON – An RV fire was the cause of smoke in Pendleton on Sunday night according to officials.
Pendleton Assistant Fire Chief Brian Hemphill said the fire broke out on Adams Road, just outside city limits. Crews from Pendleton Fire, Umatilla Tribal Fire, and the East Umatilla Fire District responded to the scene at approximately 11:30 p.m.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control by 12:49 a.m.
Hemphill noted that seven vehicles were affected by the fire. He did not provide specific details regarding the types of vehicles involved or whether they were occupied at the time, but confirmed that no injuries were reported.
Due to a weather inversion, smoke from the fire drifted into Pendleton and was visible during the night.
