Last co-defendant sentenced in 2021 group attack in Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA — Carlos Ramone Johnson Jr., 26, of Pendleton, was sentenced Monday to 178 days in jail with credit for time served, facing no additional incarceration or probation. The sentence concludes a case delayed for two years by an administrative oversight following Johnson’s 2023 guilty plea. Walla Walla County Superior Court Judge Patricia Fulton scheduled the final hearing after discovering no court dates had been set since his plea.
The charges stem from a July 5, 2021, armed confrontation in Walla Walla over a disputed vehicle, which left three people injured. The alleged leader of the group attack, Charles Thompkins Jr., also of Pendleton, died in 2025.
Of the eight other co-defendants involved in the incident, two died before resolution, while the remaining six had their charges dismissed through various legal channels.
