Lane closure on Tri-Cities’ Blue Bridge starts Monday

PASCO – (News release from Washington State Department of Transportation) The southbound right lane on the US 395 Pioneer Memorial Bridge in Tri-Cities – known locally as the Blue Bridge, will close on Monday, Feb. 26 as part of the project to repaint the bridge. 

Crews with the Washington State Department of Transportation will begin to close the lane starting at 7 a.m. on Monday. The southbound right lane is expected to be closed until 6 p.m. every day for the next several weeks.

Travelers are encouraged to use alternate routes to cross the Columbia River during the project, including:

  • The US 397 Ed Hendler Bridge, known as the Cable Bridge, to cross between Kennewick and Pasco.
  • The Interstate 182 crossings, known as the Lee-Volpentest Bridges, to cross between Pasco and Richland.

WSDOT expects to close the northbound right lane on US 395 over the next several weeks.
