La Grande’s next Community Blood Drive begins June 16

LA GRANDE – Summer is on the way, and it’s the perfect time to donate blood. For anyone interested in donating blood while the weather is nice, La Grande’s next Red Cross Community Blood Drive is coming up June 16 and 17.
As always, the drive will be hosted at the local Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Corner of 12th and Gekeler in La Grande. The drive will run from noon to six p.m. on June 16 and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on June 17.
Appointments can be made online at RedCrossBlood.org (type in the area code, 97850 in the “find a blood drive” tab) or by contacting Linda Strand at 541-910-1973. All blood types are needed, and every donation makes a difference.
For anyone located further south or that just can’t wait, another drive is also scheduled earlier on June 8 and 9 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints in Baker City, 2625 Hughes Lane. The schedule is the same, noon to 6:00 p.m. on June 8 and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on June 9.
For Wallowa County residents, a drive is also scheduled on June 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Cloverleaf Hall in Enterprise, 600 NW 1st Street.
