LA GRANDE & BAKER CITY – Another local blood drive has come and gone. Over the course of March 18 and 19, the La Grande Community Blood Draw brought in 281 units of blood, tying the record setting amount brought in during the previous January blood draw. The next La Grande blood draw is scheduled for June 17 and 18.
For anyone that missed the last blood draw and can’t wait that long or aren’t located in La Grande, the American Red Cross are also hosting a community blood drive starting Monday, March 24. For details, see the information provided below by Baker City Blood Program Leader Robin Feik:

The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every 2 to 3 seconds and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.
Thank you for supporting the American Red Cross blood program!
