La Grande’s annual Community Tree Planting Day returns this Saturday

LA GRANDE – (Release from La Grande Parks and Recreation) La Grande’s fall tree planting day is Saturday, October 12, 2024. From 9:00 am to noon, the Grow La Grande! volunteers will be planting trees in town, and you can help grow La Grand’s community forest. The event begins at 9:00 am at the parks maintenance building in Pioneer Park, 2402 Cedar Street with a tree planting orientation. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes and gloves, and provide their own transportation. Tools will be provided.

This family friendly community event is held during NeighborWoods Month, an annual campaign by the National Arbor Day Foundation to plant and care for community trees during the month of October.
