WALLA WALLA โ€“ The Walla Walla County Sheriffโ€™s Office arrested Shyla Marie Jordan, 49, of La Grande Tuesday on suspicion of attempted vehicular assault.

Undersheriff Joe Klundt said a report came in at 8:31 p.m. about a white Ford Explorer stuck in the snow at Pikes Peak Road and Foster Road with a woman yelling in the background.

An investigation revealed Jordanโ€™s husband struck her in the face with a flashlight before she freed the vehicle and hit him, causing minor injuries.

Jordan made her first appearance in Walla Walla County Superior Court Wednesday afternoon. Judge Brandon Johnson released her on her own recognizance. Jordan is scheduled to be back in court on March 3.

Charges against Jordanโ€™s husband are being sent to the Walla Walla County Prosecuting Attorneyโ€™s Office for fourth-degree assault. His name has not been released.

โ€œWe have not made a charging decision on the Jordan case yet, nor have we received the referral on the male subject yet,โ€ Walla Walla County Prosecuting Attorney Gabe Acosta said. โ€œWe are awaiting results of additional information.โ€
