LA GRANDE – The city of La Grande Public Works Department has begun snow plowing downtown as of 2:00 a.m., January 11. Residents are asked to avoid parking on the streets as much as possible as this will allow crews to remove more snow. La Grande would also like to warn residents of the anticipated temperature drop this weekend. The city’s release is as follows:

“Extremely cold temperatures are forecasted for the next several days, please protect your plumbing and keep house thermostats set to at least 55 degrees. Leave cupboard doors open to keep warm air around pipes and let cold water drip from faucets connected to the outside. If pipes freeze, your best bet is to call a professional.”
