La Grande Swim Club receives $3,450 from 2025 Turkey Trot

LA GRANDE – Back on November 22, the highest ever attended La Grande turkey trot brought in $3,450, all of which was slated for the La Grande Swim Club. At 3:45 p.m. on Friday, December 12, Mountain Valley Therapy officially presented the check to the local club at Veteran’s Memorial Pool.

Reflecting on the donation and what it means for local youth athletics, Ashley Close with the club stated:

“The La Grande Swim Club is sincerely grateful for the generous donation from Mountain Valley Therapy’s Turkey Trot. After an unexpected loss of a grant that supports our scholarship fund, this contribution will directly help families afford monthly swim club fees. We truly appreciate the community’s continued support and are grateful for the impact it will have on our youth swimmers.”

For anyone interested in the La Grande Swim Club, the group operates year-round with participation opportunities for all skill levels. Two-week trials are offered every month, with signups available by reaching out to smdonovan5678@gmail.com. Scholarships are also available for USA swimming membership and reduced club fees for qualifying families.
