LA GRANDE– Roughly 16 months since the groundbreaking, the La Grande School District’s Wildcat Center will have its official grand Opening on Wednesday, September 25. When completed, the multi-use center will feature six classrooms, dividers, softball and baseball practice areas, and multiple pickleball courts, providing state-of-the-art academic and athletic facilities for students. Options for the public to rent out spaces are likewise being considered.
Jarod Teeter, Project Manager with Mike Becker General Contractor spoke with Elkhorn Media Group staff recently, giving us an update on the project as it nears completion. During that update Teeter noted that the gymnasium floors were being finished then had seven-days to cure. Mentioning that the gym would be available for occupancy on September 5.
In addition to the floors, crews have been putting on the wall pads and doing small finishing touches, along with striping the parking lot.
The open house is scheduled for Wednesday, September 25th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., with the ribbon cutting ceremony slated for 5:30 p.m. that evening. The public is invited, with the La Grande School
