LA GRANDE – (Release from La Grande School District) A school district/community team effort is making it possible to build two new dugouts at the La Grande High School girls’ turf softball field. The funds for the project have come from the La Grande School District and portions of the lumber donated by Outdoor RV and Northwood Manufacturing. Community members Walt Anderson, Cody Bowen and Doug Strand have donated their labor to the project.
Future needs for the field include a new scoreboard and bullpen, so donations are still being accepted. “We still need to complete electrical work, painting and metal roofing, so we welcome additional donations of money or labor to this project,” Bowen said.People who would like to donate money to the softball field project can contact Darren Goodman, Athletic Director at LHS. Those who want to donate time/labor, please contact Cody Bowen.
