LA GRANDE – (Release from the La Grand School District) A Groundbreaking Ceremony in August will kick off an exciting new project for La Grande School District. The district event is on Tuesday, August 8th at 10 AM on the corner of 3rd Street and I Avenue, where the district will start building the first Tiger Home.
The project includes two townhouse units that will be built with support from La Grande High School students enrolled in construction classes. According to Superintendent George Mendoza, this project will provide hands-on, Career and Technical Education opportunities for LHS students, while also addressing critical housing needs in the La Grande community.
“We have been working on funding, logistics and making this exciting project a reality for several years now, and we look forward to celebrating the start of it with members of our community,” said Mendoza.
The public is invited to the Groundbreaking Ceremony.
