La Grande School District announces hiring of new La Grande Middle School assistant principal

LA GRANDE – (Release from La Grande School District) La Grande School District is pleased to announce that, effective July 1, 2025, Caleb Patterson will become the new Assistant Principal at La Grande Middle School.
Caleb was raised in Union County and he is thrilled to return to the place he has always considered home. A graduate of Eastern Oregon University, Caleb began his education career in Boise, Idaho, before moving to Walla Walla, Washington. He currently serves as the Assistant Principal at Sunridge Middle School, where he has focused on supporting students and fostering a positive learning environment.
Caleb and his wife, Annie, recently welcomed their newborn son, Oliver, making this return to La Grande even more meaningful. As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors—camping, hiking, and exploring the beauty of Eastern Oregon. The Pattersons are excited to put down roots in La Grande and become active members of the community.
Superintendent George Mendoza shared, “We are excited to welcome Mr. Patterson back to La Grande. His experience, leadership, and passion for student success will be an asset to our middle school and to the entire district.”
