La Grande residents donate 277 units of blood during latest drive

LA GRANDE – Another week, another blood drive in the books. Linda and Sheldon Strand, La Grande’s Red Cross Community Blood Draw Coordinators, report that the community donated a respectable 277 units of blood during the latest draw on September 15 and 16. As written by the Strands in a recent announcement:
“Congratulations to the donors, volunteers, and supporters who joined to make a successful blood drive possible. On behalf of the people who need this life sustaining substance we thank you.”
For anyone that missed the latest draw or just can’t wait to give blood again, La Grande’s next community blood draw is set for November 10 and 11. As always, this will be hosted at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1802 Gekeler Lane, La Grande.
Another local drive is also scheduled for November 4 at Eastern Oregon University at the Hoke College Center. For those outside La Grande, a drive is also scheduled for November 2 and 3 at the Baker City Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (2625 Hughes Lane). Reserve appointments online at https://www.redcrossblood.org/ by typing in the area code. All blood types are needed and even a single unit can make a difference.
