LA GRANDE – (Release from La Grande Police Department) The La Grande Police Department is intensifying its efforts to combat a critical issue affecting our community: child pornography.

Currently, the department is addressing 16 open cases related to the manufacturing and/or possession of child pornography. To bolster these efforts, the department has partnered with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC). The ICAC Task Force plays a crucial role in assisting local law enforcement agencies by providing essential resources, expertise, and support to address technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and other internet crimes against children. This collaboration is vital in ensuring a coordinated and effective response to these severe cases.

The La Grande Police Department is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of children in our community. Our partnership with the ICAC Task Force enhances our capability to tackle these crimes and bring those responsible to justice.

The La Grande Police Department urges community members to come forward with any information related to incidents involving the possession, distribution, receipt, or production of child pornography. To report such incidents, individuals can file a report on the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) website at www.cybertipline.com or call the toll-free hotline at 1-800-843-5678.
