La Grande Police Department make arrest on Cowlitz County child molestation warrant

LA GRANDE – On Monday, June 8, the La Grande Police Department arrested 47-year-old Marie Ann Routt on a Cowlitz County Washington warrant for an original charge of Child Molestation III. This arrest occurred at around 11:38 a.m. at the La Grande Police Station, with Routt being housed in the Union County Jail as of the afternoon of June 8.
According to the LGPD, officers were working on an unrelated case when the active warrant was discovered. Route simply happened to be at the police station at the time. What this other case involved and why Routt was at the station were not disclosed by the LGPD.
According to Washington Court records, a warrant of arrest was issued by the Cowlitz County Superior Court on June 8 for Routt. The warrant was put forward by probable cause, with the warrant order initially signed by judge Michael H Evans on June 6.
