LA GRANDE – Big changes are coming to the grounds of the La Grande Middle School this June. To make way for the new Wildcat Center, the old modular buildings will be cleared from the lot on June 10. In addition, the Middle School green house is slated to be moved to a new location and the old brick maintenance building will be dismantled and declared surplus to make way for the Center.
For those wanting to get their hands dirty, the school district is planning a groundbreaking ceremony once work on the foundation gets started. According to district superintendent George Mendoza, this ceremony will likely take place the final week of school this year, stating, “we want to have students to be able to help us move that dirt.”
