LA GRANDE – At around 8:45 p.m. on Sunday Evening (December 7), the La Grande police department responded to a residence in the 1900 block of 2nd Street following a report that a man had punched and broken a window. According to the La Grande Police Department, an investigation revealed that the suspect, 44-year-old Adam Jacob McGriff of La Grande, had reportedly been denied entry to the residence (which did not belong to him) and proceeded to break the window in an attempt to force entry.
Officers located McGriff nearby and noted he appeared to be under the influence of drugs and was yelling and screaming. It was further noted that McGriff was acting aggressively as if he wanted to fight. When officers attempted to place McGriff under arrest, he subsequently resisted and attempted to fight the officers, though he was taken into custody without further incident.
McGriff’s Charges at the time of arrest, according to the December 8 LGPD press log, were Attempt to Commit Crime – Felony, Burglary I, Criminal Mischief II, Disorderly Conduct II, and Resisting Arrest.
