LA GRANDE — La Grande Main Street invites community members to participate in Downtown Clean Up Day on Saturday, April 20th, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This event aims to beautify our beloved downtown area while promoting environmental awareness and community engagement.
Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to join us in making lovely La Grande even lovelier. To register as a volunteer, please contact Sarah Marcotte, Executive Director of La Grande Main Street Downtown, at 541-805-2820.
As an added treat, Liz Turner, also known as The Compost Chick, will be roaming around with her two goats, Minnie and Pearl. Additionally, a guest speaker from US Fish and Wildlife will lead a discussion on pollinator and native plants in Reynolds Park. This educational segment underscores our commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.
Volunteers are advised to wear layered clothing suitable for outdoor activities and bring yard utensils, trash bags, and yard gloves. Let’s come together to beautify our downtown and cultivate a stronger sense of community pride.
Volunteers should meet at the Main Street office located at 102 Depot St. La Grande, OR 97850.
