La Grande High School Golf Coach Passes Away

LA GRANDE — The La Grande School District announced that the high school’s head golf coach Ron Evans has passed away. No details have been given on what led to Evans’ death. Below is a statement from Superintendent George Mendoza:

“A Message from Superintendent Mendoza:

Dear Staff, Students, Parents and Community Members,

It is with great sadness that we share the loss of Coach Ron Evans. Coach Evans was our boys golf coach and had a very positive impact on many in our community. Our thoughts are with his family, current and former golf team members, LHS students, staff and all who are mourning his loss.

We will update with more information related to services and ask that you remember his great impact and influence on our students.”
