LA GRANDE – (Information from the City of La Grande Fire Department) On Sunday, December 18 at approximately 4:30 a.m., a shift from the City of La Grande Fire Department ran the station’s 3282nd call of the year, officially setting a new record. In a social media post, the LGFD stated the following:
“This eclipsed last year’s call total of 3281 for the entire year. At the same time last year, we had logged 3128 calls. The quick math means we were 154 calls ahead for the year. With 12 days left to go in 2022, it’s anyone’s guess exactly where the new record year-end-total will stand.
All 3 shifts have been working hard this year in service to you! We’re proud of them for their efforts and the sacrifices they make! 3200+ calls is a busy year under the best of circumstances. These dedicated professionals have logged that number while being shorthanded, yet still focused on our #1 mission – being ready and willing to serve you!
As we rush into Christmas and the new year, we want you to know we’ll be here when you need us! Ready and willing to break more records in our dedication to serve you!
Happiest of holidays, from Station 4!”
