La Grande Community Blood Drive collected 1239 units of blood in 2023

LA GRANDE – Collection totals have been released for 2023 La Grande Community Blood Draws and for the year a total of 1239 units of blood were collected.
Each unit of blood, according to collection organizers, has the potential to save three lives.
In a letter issued by Linda and Sheldon Strand, coordinators of these community blood drives, “It is truly a community effort. Red Cross crew members are obvious at the events, as are the people in registration and donor assistance. The Church or Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has provided the venue for something over 20 years.”
