LA GRANDE – The La Grande November community blood draw has come to a close. According to blood draw coordinators Linda and Sheldon Strand, the draw brought in 241 units of blood and marks the final community blood draw of 2023. In total, La Grande’s community blood draw brought in 1239 units of blood for the year. In an email announcing the final tally, the Strands wrote the following:
“Donors, Red Cross staff, volunteers and community supporters have come together to make possible this record setting volume. We want to thank all who have supported the Community blood draw in our effort to help meet the national blood shortage which has reached crisis levels.”
The next community blood draw is scheduled for January 16 and 17, 2024.
