LA GRANDE- The City of La Grande has issued a formal response to a pointed letter issued by Union County Sheriff Cody Bowen earlier this week, related to the discontinuation of the Drug Task Force.

In response to Sheriff Bowen’s letter, La Grande City Manager Robert Strope and La Grande Police Chief Gary Bell have compiled a lengthy response, which was issued to the City of La Grande Mayor, councilors, and local media, highlighting a number of points mentioned by Sheriff Bowen. That letter can be seen below.
In addition to the letter of response, Chief Bell has issued a Chief’s Status Report providing information on the La Grande Police Department organization and staffing. That document is shown below.
A final document provided is the Union County Cooperative Policing Agreement, which can be seen below.
