LA GRANDE & BAKER CITY – Ghosts, goblins and all kinds of crazy costumes will be roaming the downtown streets of La Grande and Baker City on the evening of Tuesday, October 31. To ensure the safety of trick-or-treaters, portions of Adams Avenue in La Grande and Main Street in Baker City will be closed for the duration of the Halloween Events.
For La Grande’s Downtown Safe Trick-or-Treat event, the La Grande Police Department will close Adams Avenue between 4th Street and Greenwood Street. The closure will last from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the event itself taking place between 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. that evening. As an additional reminder from the LGPD:
“This event is sponsored by La Grande Main Street Downtown as a safe downtown trick-or-treat event for the community. The roadway closure allows for a safe corridor of movement for kids, and businesses open their doors for kids and parents to trick or treat. Businesses not located on Adams Avenue may park and decorate their cars on Adams Avenue for the Trunk-or-Treat.”
For Baker City’s Downtown Main Street Trick or Treat, the Baker City Police Department will close Main Street between Campbell Street and Auburn Avenue. The closure will begin between 3:15 and 3:30 p.m., with the event lasting from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. that evening.
For questions regarding the events or the closures, contact La Grande Main Street Downtown or the Baker City Kiwanis respectively.
